Vegan Nutella

Refined sugar free | Dairy free | Gluten free


・ 2 cups (300g) hazelnuts
・ 1/4 cup cacao powder
・ 1/4 cup date syrup
・ 1/4 tsp sea salt
・ 1/4 tsp pure vanilla powder
・1 1/2 tbsp extra virgin coconut oil (soft or melted)


1. Roast the hazelnuts at 180C for 10 minutes until light brown. Then cool and remove skins, rubbing the nuts between your palms (if some skins stay on, it’s ok).
2. Place the nuts in a food processor, add salt, vanilla and blend until your get a smooth nut butter (it can take up to 10 min), scraping down the sides as needed.
3. Add the date syrup and cacao powder. Continue to process until well mixed. At this moment, the nut butter will become clumpy, but that’s ok. 
4. Add the coconut oil and continue to process. The Nutella should become silky and smooth (if necessary, add a bit more coconut oil). 

Spread ,,Nutella" on apples, bananas, toasted bread, put on pancakes or porridge. Enjoy!
